Monster Hunter Wilds' Title Update 4 (Version 1.041.00.00) dropped on February 18, 2026, marking the game's one-year anniversary with a content-packed update. While described by Capcom as the final major update before a large-scale summer expansion, TU4 adds significant endgame depth with Arch-Tempered Arkveld as the new pinnacle challenge, the powerful Arkveld γ armor set, and quality-of-life improvements via Timeworn Charms.

This guide covers everything you need to know about Title Update 4 from a build-optimization and tool standpoint.

What's New in Title Update 4

New Monsters & Event Quests

Title Update 4 introduces five new permanent Arch-Tempered event quests — a major addition for endgame hunters:

MonsterQuest NameHR RequiredDifficulty
Arch-Tempered Arkveld"The Undying Dark Primeval"HR 100⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Arch-Tempered Rey Dau"Storm Caller: Unleashed"HR 80⭐⭐⭐⭐
Arch-Tempered Uth Duna"Tidebreaker Awakened"HR 80⭐⭐⭐⭐
Arch-Tempered Nu Udra"Void Walker Unbound"HR 80⭐⭐⭐⭐
Arch-Tempered Jin Dahaad"Mountain God Rampant"HR 80⭐⭐⭐⭐

All five quests are permanent — they won't rotate out. This is a major win for hunters who want to farm at their own pace.

Additionally, five 9-star event quests are now permanently available: "The White Wonder," "Ultimate Berserker," "The Monkey King," "Sovereign Brute," and "There Goes the Neighborhood."

Arch-Tempered Arkveld armor set and upgrade guide for TU4

Arch-Tempered Arkveld: Fight Overview

AT Arkveld is the crown jewel of TU4 and the hardest fight currently in the game. Before challenging it, ensure you meet these minimum requirements:

Minimum Build Threshold

  • HR 100+ (hard gate, cannot be bypassed)
  • Fully augmented Rarity 8 armor
  • Maximum upgraded weapon with at least White sharpness
  • Health Boost 3 + Stun Resistance 3 (mandatory)
  • At least 60% affinity before Weakness Exploit
  • AT Arkveld's Key Mechanics

Compared to the base Arkveld, AT Arkveld features:

  • 30-40% higher HP pool and significantly increased attack damage
  • Expanded energy drain attacks — its tentacle grab now applies Dragonblight AND drains your skill activations temporarily
  • New phase transition — at 40% HP, AT Arkveld enters a berserk state with permanent Enrage-tier attack buffs
  • Faster tentacle recovery — windows for healing are dramatically shorter
  • One-shot potential — several attacks can K.O. even fully augmented hunters
  • AT Arkveld Counters

  • Dragon Resistance — Bring Dragon Medallions or equip a Dragon Res decoration (level 3+)
  • Blight Resistance — Critical for surviving the extended energy drain combos
  • Guts — The Rey Dau γ Waist provides Guts, which is invaluable for surviving the one-shot mechanics
  • Flinch Free 3 — Essential for multiplayer to avoid staggering teammates
  • AT Arkveld Rewards

Defeating AT Arkveld drops exclusive Arkveld Condensed Dark Materials used to craft the Arkveld γ armor set.

Arkveld γ Armor Set: Full Breakdown

The Arkveld γ (gamma) set is the new top-tier armor available in TU4. Here are the confirmed skills:

    Set Bonuses (Group Skill)

Lord Soul (2+ pieces): +5% raw attack to all group members within range. This is a powerful passive aura that benefits your entire hunting party — a significant reason to run 2-piece Arkveld γ in multiplayer builds.

Arkveld's Hunger (2 pieces): Restores health proportional to accumulated damage dealt to monsters (activates per hit series)

Arkveld's Hunger+ (4 pieces): Enhanced version — substantially higher health regeneration rate. Values vary by weapon type:

    Weapon Category2-piece hp/sec4-piece hp/sec
Slow weapons (GS, Hammer, HH, GL)~9% max HP / period~13% max HP / period
Standard melee (LS, SnS, DB, Lance, CB, SA, IG)~4% max HP / period~7% max HP / period
Ranged (Bow, LBG, HBG)~2% max HP / period~3% max HP / period

    Is Arkveld γ Meta?

Short answer: 2-piece hybrid is strong, full set is niche.

The Lord Soul group skill makes 2+ Arkveld γ pieces compelling for multiplayer. However, full 5-piece Arkveld γ sacrifices significant offensive skills (Weakness Exploit, Critical Boost, etc.) for sustain that's already less needed by skilled players.

    Recommended hybrid builds:

  • Arkveld γ Head + Chest + offensive armor elsewhere = Lord Soul benefit with full DPS build
  • Arkveld γ Head + Waist = Lord Soul + Recovery Up + Hasten Recovery for comfort builds

    Timeworn Charms: New Talisman System

One of TU4's most welcome quality-of-life additions is Timeworn Charms — new appraisal items found in post-story quest rewards.

    How Timeworn Charms Work

  • Drop Source: Timeworn Charms appear in reward boxes from high-rank event quests and certain investigation tiers
  • Appraisal System: Take them to the Melding Pot and select "Appraise Timeworn Charm"
  • Guaranteed Rarity: Unlike standard melding, Timeworn Charms have a significantly higher probability of producing Rarity 7 Talismans (the highest tier)
  • Skill Bias: Community data suggests Timeworn Charms have roughly 40-50% higher rate of offensive skill talismans vs. random Ritual Melding
  • Timeworn Charm Farming Strategy

  • Best source: AT Arkveld and the four new AT event quests all have Timeworn Charm in their reward tables
  • Reward frequency: Roughly 1 charm per 3-4 clears on AT quests
  • Alternative source: High-difficulty Anomaly Investigations (Level 90+)
  • What Talismans to Aim For

With higher chances at Rarity 7, priority targets are:

  • Weakness Exploit 2 + 2-slot — Best possible offensive talisman
  • Critical Eye 3 + any slots — Enables more flexible armor choices
  • Focus Boost 2-3 + slots — Strong for weapon-mechanics-heavy builds (LS, CB, GS)
  • Melding Pot: Gogma Materials

TU4 also expands the Melding Pot to accept Gogma materials (from the Gogmazios elder dragon). If you've accumulated Gogmazios parts from farming, you can now convert them into decorations or other useful items at the Melding Pot.

This is particularly valuable for hunters who farmed Gogmazios for its Artian weapons but are sitting on leftover materials.

    MH Stories 3 Collaboration

TU4 includes a crossover event with Monster Hunter Stories 3: Twisted Reflection:

  • "A Royal Request" side mission: Available after reaching HR 9+. Completing it rewards a special collaboration-themed Palico with unique animations
  • Collaboration charms: Special pendants and accessories based on Stories 3 characters
  • "Love for a Hero" side mission: A separate new side mission, available after completing "Ghosts Pay No Heed to Tomorrow" and speaking with Nadia and Mina
  • These are cosmetic rewards and don't affect build meta.

    TU4 Meta Impact Summary

    ChangeMeta Impact
Arkveld γ 2-piece (Lord Soul group buff)🟡 Strong for multiplayer, optional solo
    Arkveld γ 4-piece (Arkveld's Hunger+)🔴 Niche — pure DPS builds prefer offense
AT Arkveld event quest🟢 New pinnacle content, great endgame goal
Timeworn Charms🟢 Quality of life — better talisman farming
Gogma Melding expansion🟢 Good material sink for leftover parts
Core skill/damage formula changes✅ None — existing builds remain valid

Bottom line: TU4 is an endgame content update. Your existing builds from TU3 are still fully viable — nothing in TU4 invalidates previous work. The new Arkveld γ pieces are worth incorporating into multiplayer builds for the Lord Soul aura, and Timeworn Charms make talisman farming significantly more efficient.
